Industry leaders, business innovators, and government representatives gathered for the Malaysia Retail Chain Association (MRCA) Council Installation Night, celebrating a new chapter in the nation’s retail leadership.
Among the distinguished guests was Dato Seri Ivan Teh, a renowned digital strategist and technopreneur, who joined over 1,000 attendees in commemorating the installation of Datuk Ken Phua as the new MRCA President for the 2024–2026 term. The event was officiated by YB Tuan Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital Malaysia.
Dato Seri Ivan’s presence at the celebration reflects his ongoing commitment to driving digital excellence across industries, including retail. As Malaysia accelerates its digital economy agenda, the convergence between technology and retail has become more vital than ever — and leaders like Dato Seri Ivan continue to serve as catalysts for progress and collaboration.
“The future of retail lies at the intersection of digital innovation, experiential commerce, and data-driven personalization,” said Dato Seri Ivan. “It’s encouraging to see MRCA championing that evolution with renewed leadership and bold vision.”
The night also acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing president, Dato’ Sharan Valiram, and welcomed Datuk Ken Phua and his council team. With the new tagline, “Reunite, Voice, and Triumph for Retailers,” MRCA reaffirmed its dedication to empowering members and navigating an increasingly complex consumer landscape.
As Malaysia’s retail sector adapts to changing consumer behaviors and digital disruption, the alignment between visionary retail associations and digital leaders like Dato Seri Ivan Teh signals a strong foundation for sustainable, tech-enabled growth.
